Glaucoma Research Foundation to Hold 15th Annual Glaucoma 360 Event in San Francisco

The event brings together leaders from across the vision science, medical, and investment communities.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Glaucoma Research Foundation’s annual Glaucoma 360 event, which unites research, industry, and philanthropy to speed the cure for glaucoma, will be held January 29 to 31, at the Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square. This 15th annual event will bring together leaders from across the vision science, medical, and investment communities to accelerate progress toward curing glaucoma.

Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF), a national nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of glaucoma patients, hosts the three-day program which features a benefit gala, an innovation forum, and educational opportunities designed to foster collaboration and highlight the groundbreaking science shaping the future of vision care.

The Gala, on Thursday, January 29th, will benefit GRF research and education programs and honor leaders in ophthalmology and philanthropy as well as the visionaries who share GRF’s mission to cure glaucoma and restore vision through innovative research. Gala honorees will include Nancy and Patrick Forster in recognition of their extraordinary leadership and long-standing commitment to GRF’s mission, Barbara Wirostko, MD, FARVO, an ophthalmology innovator and entrepreneur, and Oluwatosin U. Smith, MD, for her exceptional leadership and dedication to glaucoma care and patient education.

New Horizons Forum, co-founded by GRF board members Adrienne Graves, PhD, and Andrew G. Iwach, MD, will take place on Friday, January 30th. New Horizons is a full day of presentations, panels, and discussions featuring CEOs from start-up companies, industry executives, health care leaders, venture capitalists, and the FDA. Ophthalmology’s key opinion leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs will share ideas, learn, network, and collaborate at the only event of its kind aimed at speeding the development of new therapies and diagnostics for glaucoma patients.

Glaucoma 360 concludes on Saturday, January 31st with continuing medical education symposia for ophthalmologists and optometrists. New for 2026, the Retina CME Symposium will take place in the afternoon following the Glaucoma CME Symposium, providing ophthalmologists an in-depth look at the intersection of glaucoma and retinal care.

2026 Schedule for Glaucoma 360 Events

Thursday, January 29 – the Annual Gala, with this year’s theme “Accelerating Hope,” celebrates the scientists, advisors, donors, and volunteers advancing glaucoma research.

Friday, January 30New Horizons Forum — keynote speaker Eugene de Juan, Jr., MD, will present “Neuroprotection: The Need, The Opportunity, The Path.” A special session on “Breaking Barriers in Glaucoma: Neuroprotection & Vision Restoration” will explore how neuroprotective strategies are advancing research beyond traditional pressure-lowering treatments to preserve and restore vision.

Saturday, January 31 – Clinical Education Day

  • Glaucoma Symposium CME: A free half-day program for ophthalmologists featuring the latest advances in glaucoma treatments, medications, and surgical techniques. The 2026 Shaffer-Hetherington-Hoskins Lecture will be delivered by Leon W. Herndon Jr., MD.
  • Retina CME Symposium: Will provide an in-depth look at the intersection of glaucoma and retinal care. The complimentary half-day program for ophthalmologists will showcase the latest advances in management, medications, and surgical techniques.
  • Optometric Glaucoma Symposium: Continuing education for optometrists on the latest advances in diagnosis and patient care.
