Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF) does not sell or distribute information generated through the GRF website or any other communications, online or offline.
All email addresses and contact information of those who communicate with us online are collected for the sole purpose of responding to specific questions and requests, or advising visitors of new online material and events. GRF is committed to preserving privacy and safeguarding credit card and other sensitive information. We do not store sensitive information such as credit card numbers. GRF information remains private and is never sold.
If you would like to be removed from receiving communications, make corrections to your personal information, or have any questions about the personal information we have on file, please contact us by email to grf@glaucoma.org or by phone (415) 986-3162.
GRF takes every precaution to protect our constituents’ personal information. This includes securing personal information for both donors and non-donors. When donors submit sensitive information such as credit card numbers via our website, their information is protected. Personal information sent via our online donation forms is encrypted and is protected with SSL, the best encryption software in the industry. While on a secure page, such as a donation form, the frame of your web browser will display a small “lock” icon.
GRF uses multiple strong encryption technologies and strict access requirements to ensure constituent data is secure. To protect data, we encrypt information using AES 256-bit encryption. We maintain encryption for data in transit over the public internet by supporting TLS 1.2 or better, and also support opportunistic TLS encryption for email sending.
Constituent data is stored in a secure datacenter that uses strict data protection, redundant checkpoint firewalls, site redundant management servers, application security, host-based security, internal network security measures, perimeter security, and physical security. Strong password requirements and multi-factor authentication add an additional layer of security and data protection.
The GRF website contains links to other websites that provide additional resources and information related to glaucoma and eye health. Most of the links to other websites are on the pages “Low Vision Resources” and “Resources on the Web.” Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which GRF has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.
Personal information you provide to Glaucoma Research Foundation, either online or offline, is protected, secure and private, and is never shared or sold.
