About the Artist

Kaitlin Walsh is an independent artist specializing in abstract anatomy watercolors. Her fascination with art and science started at a young age and led her to study both disciplines, culminating in a Biomedical Visualization graduate degree. Post-graduation, she married and had her first child, who spent months in the hospital due to prenatal complications and premature birth. Inspired by her son’s health journey and her academic interests, Kaitlin creates captivating works that celebrate the beauty and complexity of the human form.

After the birth of her second child, Kaitlin launched her own shop, successfully integrating her artistic career with motherhood. Crystalline Lens is a testament to Kaitlin’s ability to blend her love of family, science, and art. Her dad, a former optometrist, was forced to retire when diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. She paints optometry-related pieces with him in mind, for he loved his career and everything about the eye.
